Bike incident at turn 10 during ASBK Practice, Friday 22nd March 2019

Wakefield Park management would like to respond to a bike becoming air born and travelling over the fence during Friday’s practice of ASBK Championship. Wakefield Park would like to make it aware that we are currently reviewing safety of turn 10 around Wakefield Park.

Safety is of high importance for both competitors and spectators. For this to occur we must first investigate how and what can be done to ensure the correct actions are taken following this incident.

Motorcycling Australia and Wakefield Park deem it necessary to review the incident in question and will have an outcome while the track licence is renewed.

Motorcycling Australia and Wakefield Park took the appropriate measures to ensure that safety was increased around the area in question to allow the event to continue.
