OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Benalla Auto Club Inc has a position available for an Experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for the operational management of the Wakefield Park Motorsport racing complex near Goulburn NSW.

We seek an individual based close to the venue, who can work competently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both as part of a team and as an autonomous individual when required. Part of the management team of the Benalla Auto Club Group you will be involved in shaping the long term future direction of Wakefield Park.

Our ideal applicant will be someone who can lead the team, create, manage and promote events, assist with the development of future venue improvements, maintain the financial performance of the business against agreed budgets. You must have the flexibility to adapt to last-minute change yet retain their long-term healthy respect and strong appreciation of the vibrancy and energy of the motorsport industry.

Our ideal manager will have exceptional presentation and communications skills, and the ability to develop and sustain excellent relationships with fellow team members, track users and other key stakeholders. Excellent customer relationship skills will be required for dealing with all Wakefield stakeholders which includes media representatives, volunteers and members of the general public.

Technical skills required include basic engineering, project management, financial acumen and competent usage of computer software. The position will take responsibility for:

  • High-level stakeholder relationship management;
  • Management and delivery of minor venue hires through to major motor racing events; o Asset management of the racetrack and its co-located facilities;
  • Leadership and management of dedicated specialist staff and volunteers; and
  • Management of various contractors and suppliers and operational works.

The successful candidate will be naturally engaging and inspire others to follow their lead. S/he will have a solid understanding of motorsports, and experience in managing people in a safely-operated commercial, sporting or major event environment. They will also have knowledge of race scheduling, timely works and grounds maintenance and be willing to contribute to infrastructure planning and
improvements.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or strong industry experience are required for this role. The salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and may include private use of a motor vehicle and on-site accommodation.

CAFÉ MANAGER

Wakefield Park’s Café is an integral part of the circuit operations and see’s literally thousands of people through the doors each year.

We have a unique opportunity to become part of the small but very busy team of staff which deliver events from small scale club days right through to national series race meetings (and everything in between!).

This is a genuine career opportunity available to the right person whom has the passion, experience and know-how to run a ‘business within a business’ contributing a significant revenue stream to the venue annually.

Having recently undergone a significant review of systems/procedures/service delivery and most importantly quality of food, the leadership of the Café should be in a measured approach with use of your initiative, skill and ability so as to ensure it continues to grow and prosper. Your experience in the industry in a similar role will hold you in good stead, as will your willingness to roll up your sleeves and go ‘above and beyond’ the call of duty as and when required.

CASUAL CAFE STAFF

Wakefield Park Raceway has a vacancy in the cafe onsite open most days including weekends. This job requires the use of a POS system, cash handling, making coffee and customers happy in a busy team environment.
