Statement – Drifting Returning to Wakefield Park

To the drifting community, thank you for your  feedback in relation to the return of drifting to Wakefield Park Raceway on Facebook, phone & email.

We would like to start by acknowledging Nick Nillson for his respectful approach to Wakefield Park Management, opening discussions as to the viability of drifting returning to the venue including noise capability.

Please understand that drifting is seen as an integral part of the NSW motorsport scene and it is our intention to proactively support the promotion of this exciting and entertaining motorsports discipline.  BUT, the return of drifting to Wakefield needs to be carefully managed and for that reason we have outlined the following guidelines.  Firstly and most importantly, any drifting taking place at the venue must be done in accordance with the rules that have been implemented from a track management perspective. Any breach of these rules will result in your day being concluded and you will be asked to leave the venue. These rules can be found HERE.

NOISE: EVERY vehicle that is on track MUST comply with the 95db (taken from 30M) noise limit in place at the venue. The first breach of this limit will result in a warning. A second breach will be the end of your track activity for the day. The sound measuring equipment at the venue is deemed to be the judge of fact and the results are not open for discussion.

TRACK EDGES: Whilst we appreciate that an integral part of drifting is having the vehicle sliding sideways, it must be in control and within the marked track boundaries. If you know your car is about to or IS on the edge, get off the power and regain control back onto the track proper. Continual exceeding of the track limits will result in removal from the track and your day concluded.

DRIVER ATTITUDE: We are all about providing a safe, fun environment for all drifters to attend and have a great day.  Please respect the venue, respect the staff that run it and ensure that your behaviour is conducted in a way that does not jeopardise the future of drifting at Wakefield Park.

First event kick off (2/2/17);
